The Australian Tarmac Rally (ATR) is shifting gears in 2026, launching a revitalised calendar that signals a bold new chapter for the series. With a dynamic rebrand, exciting new events, introduction of the lifestyle rally component and a streamlined entry system powered by WOLF Sports for integrated entries, ATR is setting the pace for the future of tarmac rallying in Australia.
The 2026 season delivers a powerhouse lineup of four premier events, introducing the all-new Mt Buller Sprint and Great Alpine Rally, alongside the beloved Snowy River Sprint and a reimagined, three-day Great Tarmac Rally to cap off the year in spectacular fashion.
WHAT'S NEW IN 2026:
Mt Buller Sprint | 13–15 February
The season roars to life with the return of Mt Buller, a legendary alpine ascent that’s back by popular demand. This exclusive event is reserved for only 80 full competition vehicles, promising a pure, high-octane experience on one of Victoria’s most revered mountain roads.
Great Alpine Rally | 28–29 March
A brand-new addition, the Great Alpine Rally takes competitors through the dramatic terrain of Falls Creek. Expect long, technical stages, sweeping descents, and fast-flowing valley roads.
Snowy River Sprint | 12–13 September
A fan favourite returns. The Snowy River Sprint continues a cornerstone of the ATR calendar, boasting its signature mix of challenging roads.
Great Tarmac Rally | 23–25 October
The season finale gets a major upgrade. Now a three-day endurance event, the Great Tarmac Rally offers more kilometres, more competition, and more of what makes tarmac rallying unforgettable.
“This is more than just a calendar; it’s a statement,” said Brittany Wilson, Event Director of ATR. “We’ve taken time to reflect, rebuild, and reimagine what ATR can be. With a fresh brand, a new digital platform, and a renewed focus on delivering world-class events, we’re inviting competitors to rediscover the thrill of tarmac rallying.”
The 2026 vision is about more than just roads and regulations: it’s about reigniting the spirit of the sport. ATR’s new direction is designed to bring cars out of storage and back onto the stages, to create events that are worth the journey, and to foster the camaraderie that defines the rally community.
