Fire Suppression System Requirement - UPDATE

In the interest of competitor safety, we previously announced that plumbed fire suppression systems would become mandatory in all competition vehicles from 1 January 2026.

After ongoing consultation and review, we have made the decision to postpone the introduction of this requirement.

While the safety benefits of plumbed systems are well recognised, we acknowledge the need for a more consistent and cost-effective solution across the field.

Further research is underway to better understand the range of available systems, their effectiveness, and how best to implement them without creating undue financial pressure on competitors.

Plumbed fire suppression remains highly recommended for all vehicles, and we continue to encourage teams to adopt these systems where possible.
