Finally, we can announce some good news that we have been wanting to share with you all for quite a while! We promised expansion in our “new ownership” press release, and here is the first little taste…
The Great Tarmac Rally will be going “back to the future” for 2020, injecting the ever-popular Eildon-Jamieson Road back into the course schedule for Sunday/Leg 2 of the competition. With 6 new stages, some over 20 kilometres in length, the tally of competitive kilometres over our two-day event climbs to more than a whopping 250!
Saturday/Leg 1 will see us once again follow the traditional course, with only some minor changes. We will still be conquering Cambarville & Cumberland Junction and will also tackle the 37km Reefton Spur stage TWICE! The Great Tarmac Rally has always been a favourite amongst tarmac rally competitors, and with the location only 1.5 hours outside of Melbourne, GTR2020 will prove to be the ultimate shakedown in preparation for the upcoming 2021 season.
Being very aware of the COVID-19 restrictions in Victoria, and keeping a close eye on the latest news and developments, we will continue to keep our promise that all monies paid to us will be refunded or transferred in full, if the cancellation of the event is out of our control.
In the meantime, we wish to ask you to register your interest in the event by ‘entering’ – we are not asking for any deposits upon entry. This way we can gauge the potential participation numbers and continues to plan and organise appropriately.
