COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS SEES THE CANCELLATION OF SNOWY RIVER SPRINT

As most are aware, unfortunately Melbourne is now in Stage 4 Lockdown, with the whole state of Victoria being declared a State of Disaster. We are also very aware of the border closures and restrictions making it near impossible for our interstate competitors to join us, with no real outcome guaranteed to see these lifted before our Snowy River Sprint 2020.

Therefore, after much discussion and heavy hearts, we have decided the most appropriate course of action is to cancel our Australian Tarmac Rally Snowy River Sprint 2020 event.

Our duty of care at ATR is to ensure as best we can that we are not continuing the spread of the virus, either within our competition family or amongst the communities we visit, and to also closely monitor and adhere to the restrictions, regulations and health advice our state and federal governments have put in place.

We have also taken into account the fact that our event would traditionally run through regional Victorian towns who are themselves in lockdown and unable to accommodate us. We share the disappointment our good friends in Lakes Entrance and Buchan are experiencing as they confront their own challenges.

Bushfires decimated the area earlier this year, and now they face the very real possibility of no tourism (and no tourism dollars) helping the local economy regenerate.

Our aim is to now work with all of you to refund or transfer any & all funds that have been paid to us for our Snowy River Sprint. Please contact Brittany or Pam and we will work this out together.

Once again, we are deeply disappointed as I’m sure you are, but everyone’s health and safety is what’s most important right now.

Let’s all look forward to the virus case numbers dropping, borders reopening and a return to some fun tarmac rallying soon! We will continue our planning for Great Tarmac Rally in October, and hope to see you there!

We are also aiming to have entries open for Mt Baw Baw Sprint 2021, before the end of this month and some new & exciting developments for 2021 including the new ATR Championship structure.

Take care, keep well & hopefully we will see you soon...
