Just when we thought we had everything falling nicely into place, Pam and I have the unfortunate job of today announcing the postponement of not just one, but two of our remaining events for 2021. Our Mt Baw Baw Sprint event which was planned to run on the 6 – 7 November is now postponed due to excessive road damage caused by the storms in Victoria in July. Significant landslips occurred at 13 locations along Mount Baw Baw Tourist Road during the June extreme weather event & the extensive damage to the road is expected to take at least six months to repair.
On the back of this news, the 2021 Great Tarmac Rally will also be postponed due to difficulties in securing final event dates with any certainty of running, and ongoing supplier issues.
We didn’t feel it was fair to keep changing dates around on everyone and with 2021 shaping up to be an unexpectedly bad year for planning anything, we have decided to regroup and put all of our time and energy into creating an exciting 2022 Championship calendar.
Our Snowy River Sprint event in September will go ahead as planned (fingers crossed) and we will then look forward to returning in 2022, re-energised and hopefully with a full event calendar including an announcement of our new additional event in New South Wales to run in the first half of the year & with the support of all our event sponsors who have re-signed for 2022.
We will take the time over the next couple of days to reach out to all competitors with paid entry fees to offer the full refund of any monies paid for Mt Baw Baw Sprint and Great Tarmac Rally, or you may choose to rollover your payment to the event of your choice next year.
Pam & I want to thank each and every one of you for your support in helping our business grow over the past 18 months. We promise to continue working with passion and commitment and are very excited to smash out a fabulous 2022 and beyond.
